鈴木鎮一先生是傑出的音樂教育家，於1946年創立鈴木教學法並將鈴木教學法彙編成教材出版。鈴木教材的樂曲選擇變化多元，民謠、舞曲、協奏曲均為耳熟能詳的樂曲，並於出版教材演奏CD。強調學習之前先聽CD，反覆不斷，於日常生活大量聆聽，讓孩子在不知不覺當中將旋律記到腦海中，訓練出孩子的絕對音感。鈴木教材不單適用於小提琴，目前已經廣泛應用於其他管、弦樂器上。

鈴木教材的學習要點：
1.培養卓越的音樂敏感度
儘量每天為您的孩子尋找傾聽的機會，聆聽他將要學習的作品CD。當學生他們在學習之前熟悉這些東西，他們正在發展內在能力。這個是培養動力的本質最好的方法。一旦動機到位，你的孩子會實踐與享受，發展優越。小提琴是培養人性的媒介， 能力和心靈。
2.美音訓練
歌唱者練習一種叫做美聲唱法，是為了培養美麗，優雅的聲音。他們的課程從發聲練習開始 發展他們的歌聲質量和力量。對於樂器演奏者來說，這也是至關重要的。教師帶領他們的學生在每節課中進行美音訓練，在家裡也要持續練習。才能使他們發展出更好的能力。
3.發展平衡姿勢
總是要爭取準確的音調，平衡的姿勢和自然的持弓。
4.創造動力
家長和老師都必須培養孩子的動機，以便他能以享受音樂和高度意願的方式練習。
