Description:

Bach gave his wife Anna Magdalena two handwritten books of music. The second one, dating from 1725, is of particular value with its gilt-edged, vellum-covered binding. In this little book, he noted down numerous piano works in various styles – both his own and those by other composers. The Henle Urtext edition faithfully reproduces the complete contents of this manuscript, excluding only the movements from the 'French Suites' (HN 593) and 'Partitas' (HN 28) which are available separately. It is also a premier example of beautiful hand-engraving.

Performance Tips/Difficulty:
