Description:

Vilém Blodek's Flute Concerto in D major (1834–1874) is the only Czech Romantic concerto for this instrument. Since its premiere in 1862, it quickly gained popularity and has secured its place as a standard in the flute repertoire.

This edition presents a new piano reduction by Petr Koronthály, accompanied by a revised solo flute part prepared by flautist, historian, and musicologist Lukáš M. Vytlacil. Based on surviving sources, this version removes later interpretative alterations and restores the first movement in its complete, original form for the very first time.

The edition also features a trilingual Foreword (Czech, English, German) and is fully compatible with the orchestral material available for hire, making it equally suitable for performance and academic study.
