孟德爾頌的《無言歌》系列共收錄四十八首鋼琴小品，每六首為一集，共八集，創作時間橫跨十餘年，並於作曲家生前及過世後分別出版。這些作品以歌曲般優美的旋律、細膩的和聲與伴奏進行描繪詩意景象，成為浪漫主義時期極具代表性的鋼琴作品之一，也被廣泛作為鋼琴教學與演奏的重要教材。

本原典版由魯多夫・葉弗斯（Rudolf Elvers）與恩斯特・赫特利希（Ernst Herttrich）編訂，收錄孟德爾頌親筆校訂版本與珍貴手稿對照，並附錄三首變體版本。內含德語標題與詩意命名，部分為孟德爾頌親定，部分則為後人所加。

作曲者介紹：

費利克斯・孟德爾頌（Felix Mendelssohn, 1809–1847）為十九世紀德國作曲家、指揮與鋼琴家，為浪漫樂派早期代表人物之一。他的音樂兼具古典平衡與浪漫情感，風格典雅且結構嚴謹，尤以鋼琴小品、弦樂作品與清唱劇為人稱頌。其《無言歌》為個人風格展現的重要代表作。
